Suprise Property Boom In North Cyprus 2009

There has been a property boom in North Cyprus since the unification attempt was first made

in 2004. The importance of this to the world of real estate and North Cyprus property

markets cannot be ignored.

The governments’ response to the current economic climate is also cause for optimism. Prime

Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer has announced that an economic coordination committee will be

set up after the elections on 19th April with the participation of all the sectors

concerned, with NGOs and ministries coordinating actions to be taken towards improving the

economy.

As Talat quite rightly stated, North Cyprus isn’t going anywhere soon, and their desire for

Cyprus reunification means that, if only because of time and persistence, the Cyprus

reunification issue will certainly be resolved.

government in response to the financial crisis, saying, ‘The fiscal policy, which supports

the sensitive fields of tourism and construction.

After declaring its independence as a de facto independent state in 1983, the North of the

island has been excluded from the rampant development in tourism, and the development that

goes alongside it, which has landed in the Republic of Cyprus in the last decade.

Since then, though, and culminating in the ‘yes’ vote in the Annan Plan Referendum and

Talat’s current presidency, the TRNC of North Cyprus has become an active member of the

Cypriot community, actively accepting its role as one ’side’ of the Cypriot culture and

being given more recognition by its peers in turn.
