The first English language primary was Sunny Lane, located in a peaceful location in Kyrenia, which has now become a full primary and secondary school offering an English language education in combination with the Turkish curricula. The Sunny Lane Crèche accommodates children from the age of 2 to 11, after which they move to a secondary school where there are an increased number of subjects from which to choose and develop. The American Elementary have schools in Kyrenia and Nicosia for children of all ages from 5 to 18 and have announced the formation of 'The Preparatory School' in Northern Cyprus to meet the growing demand for student places.

GAU teaching standards have always been highly thought of in North Cyprus, the creation of the GAU Preparatory School is a great addition to the education facilities and the development of the school in the following years will be followed with excitement. The school is offering the English National Curriculum for years 1-8, combined with the IAPS and Turkish National Ministry of Education Curriculum, enabling students to go on to take GCSEs, ASs, A-Levels and Baccalaureate exams. They are taught to communicate and be literate in the Turkish language and to have an understanding of the Cypriot and Turkish education system.
